The major alteration of an existing 90’s era beachside home overlooking Manly, the home includes the excavation, replanning and external reconfiguration of the existing property, with the introduction of new finishes, fixtures and furnishing throughout for a client who dwells mostly on the sea, and wish their home to be a safe port.
Directly overlooking ‘The Bower’ surf break, the northern elevations of the building have been reconfigured to remove structural obstruction, whilst the south facing courtyard gardens are opened up and reconnected more substantially to the home’s internal amenity.
Shou Sugi Ban Australian Hardwoods, off-form concrete and masonry tie together with the client’s gentle interiors, smooth and reflective, they house the art and sculpture that underpin the home’s brief.
Modified gardens, a new pool, gym and acoustic therapy room are housed within the new structure which is also fitted with sufficient solar amenity and new carbon neutral masonry.
