The home of Alexander &CO, Alexander House is an architectural residential showcase, an exploration of sustainability and a courageous space that fosters leadership, creativity and learning.
Purpose built as a live/work space, the building was built as a design laboratory challenging the preconceptions of home, land, family and work. The small terrace footprint houses the various functions of a working team and is a safe place for reflection, experimentation and the expression of A&CO’s craft to the team and visitors alike.
Honouring environmental innovation with a cohesive material palette of reclaimed timbers, rammed earth bricks, concrete, brass and stone, a ‘found’ feeling is fostered through inherently imperfect finishes. Local craftspeople and suppliers are championed through bespoke pieces and new technologies that are the result of collaborative experimentation.
"It’s an architectural residential showcase and a purpose-built live/work set-up aiming to challenge preconceptions of home, land, family and work."
