Queens Park House

Residential

Location

Sydney, Australia

Land

Gadigal

Type

Residential

This redesign of a semi-detached home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs saw the home emerge from a dilapidated state to embody contemporary elegance for a young professional family.

The alteration and addition comprises 4 bedrooms, a study, 3 bathrooms and an outdoor dining courtyard; well-crafted living spaces where spatial efficiency is optimised to ensure well-proportioned rooms feel open and light.

Large glazed skylights, operable sliding windows and controlled views to external vistas foster a sense of connectivity to its surroundings. Ephemeral materials such as pale stone, bleached timber, and custom concrete elements provide a subtle backdrop, complemented by darkened steel frames and metal finishes. This urban family home is a testament to thoughtful design and detailing, utilitarian yet slightly feminine.
